Kaizo is once again delighted to support the annual Tom Olsen Lecture, held every year at St Bride’s, the church of the media and press, just off Fleet Street.

This year’s lecture, to be held at 6.00 on 24 October, will be delivered by two leading figures from the world of media and public service; The Mail on Sunday’s columnist Peter Hitchens and ex Mayoral candidate and Deputy Assistant Commissioner of the Met Brian Paddick.

The theme is “Drug Laws in Britain – a waste of time, or an essential barrier to grave danger?” and Peter will be arguing the case for increasing the law and Brian for its relaxing.

Wednesday 24th October, 6.00pm for 6.30pm

One week, two cities, two award ceremonies and six nominations….Hot on the heels of last Monday’s CIPR ‘Best Event’ award for the Truvia Voyage of Discovery, team Kaizo headed over to Brussels for the EMEA Sabre Awards last night. Not only had our campaign for Gemalto ‘NFC: Hitting the Streets’ already been recognised in the Silver Best Viral Video category, but we were also up for another two for our UK launch of Truvia; SABRE’s Gold Award for UK & Ireland and most excitingly the SABRE Diamond Award for Superior Achievement in Brand Building.

Although, we didn’t manage a 100% win rate, we were over the moon to bring home the SABRE Diamond Award for Superior Achievement in Brand Building!

Special awards will be given to team Kaizo members Rosemary Brook and Emma Knott who sacrificed their livers to attend both ceremonies!

Kaizo excelled at last night’s CIPR Awards, beating off stiff competition from amazing brands such as eBay and Nikon to win ‘Best Event’ for the Truvia® Voyage of Discovery. The award winning event saw the roof of Selfridges turned into a spectacular boating lake to launch Truvia® calorie-free sweetener last July.

We were also finalists in ‘Best Consumer Relations’ (also for the Truvia®) and ‘Best Corporate and Business Communications’ for ‘Gemalto Mobile NFC Hits the Streets,’ a campaign which used parkour free runners to illustrate Near Field Communications possibilities for the IT security specialist.

Judges commented: “We were impressed at both the magical experience that Kaizo was able to create and the hard-working nature of the event which spanned a number of key audiences. Highly complicated logistics were managed effectively in order to deliver measureable results which set the brand up with the best possible launch. It sounded beautiful and unique.”

Fingers crossed for a repeat performance at the Sabre awards this Thursday, where we’re shortlisted for two Diamond awards – ‘Superior Achievement in Brand Building’ and ‘Best UK Campaign’!
